Breakfast: Cereal / Muesli
Lunch: Scotch Eggs, Coleslaw
Dinner: Bangers (Sausages) & Mash, Runner Beans, Brussels, Peas, Onions
Lunch: Time to finish this batch, and decide when we make the next. We did give a few away (sorry Rachail yours didn't quite get there). I tend to tweak the recipe or ingredients a little, but Maggie prefers not to change something that works so this time the only change may be to use more of our own breadcrumbs instead of mostly Panko breadcrumbs as they are not so easy to find at the moment
Luncheon was taken in one of our favourite spots in the garden. This view is one of the reasons that we bought this house, we think the view is just about as English as you can get
Dinner: Bangers, apparently called that during World War I (1914/1918). When sausages were filled with miscellaneous ingredients, including water, which made them explode in the pan
We have tried most brands, prefer gluten-free, not because of necessity, but because we prefer our bread (rusk) on the outside of a sausage. Our 'house' banger is Black Farmer Premium Pork. Just something about the texture and seasoning which for us sets it above the others.
We do like Italian Sausages, they are slightly coarser, seasoned with Fennel, however, we have not found any here that come close to local Italian Sausage.
Without wanting to make a political comment in any way, it seemed apt to have a traditional British meal this evening as we think about Boris Johnson and all the other people that are suffering any hardship at the moment. Our letter from 10 Downing Street arrived today
