Day 12 : Saturday 4th April, 2020

Breakfast: Cornflakes / Muesli
Lunch: Scotch Eggs, Pickles
Dinner: BBQ - Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Wings, Garlic Mushrooms, Baked Potato

Lunch: We had a lazy morning and then started on an afternoon of gardening.  We had the pleasure of ordering and receiving a 'veg box' arranged  by Bedfield Village Volunteers and Monk Soham Village Volunteers. They have arranged for various suppliers in the area to deliver goods to a central point and then re-distribute them.  Well done all of you - I will add a further post on this fantastic show of community spirit later. Back to lunch. Scotch eggs, 300g of sausage meat, 300 g of pork mince, 6 eggs (plus 2 for coating), breadcrumbs, Mustard, seasoning, herbs and oil for frying.

Dinner: Baby Back Ribs cooked in the Monolith Ceramic Grill using the 3-2-1 method (recipe to follow). Chicken Wings - Steve is not a real fan of chicken, hie thinks you should cut the wings off and cook them, use the rest of the chicken for stock!!  The ribs are dusted with Willy's Rub.
There is a BBQ shack in Sunnyvale, CA called Armadillo Willy's. Even from this side of the Atlantic it is worth checking the web site out for some BBQ porn

Tartiflette Pizza - A thing of beauty This pizza was so good we had to add it to the blog - It has been quite a while since we posted. Simple and easy - all the elements of Tartiflette the recipe is easy enough but you could do this easily even with shop-bought pizza dough Soften lardons / shallots / leek in a little olive oil Steam or boil a few new potatoes, cool and slice thinly Beat egg, creme fraiche or natural yoghurt or cream with a little grated garlic, sa...

The message is simple, even now with Covid-19 in our midst, be aware of your body and make sure to take advantage of any health screening you may be offered This is a long post, but please do not skip this part and go straight to the details of lunch at the bottom Karen    -   It’s been a while since I’ve given everyone an update and this is because healing from the lung operation has been complicated due to an infection and also the results weren’t as I had hoped. During the operation the...
